A new company has been created in order to provide a bridge between manufacturers and suppliers in the UK's automotive sector and developers of technological innovations.

With a focus on green car technology, Productiv has announced that it will aim to improve the supply chain within the industry and fast-track designs into production, providing support to smaller organizations in particular.

"European vehicle manufacturers face exorbitant fines if they fail to meet their emissions regulations targets over the next ten years," Richard Bruges, Productiv Chief Executive, pointed out.

By connecting developers with commercial partners, the firm hopes to enhance the low-carbon automotive industry in areas such as battery technology, power electronics, engine management, fuel systems, composites and chassis components.

Mr Bruges, who will debut his company at the Low Carbon Vehicle 2011 event at Rockingham Motor Speedway in Corby this week, added that the venture is an attempt to reduce risk for original equipment manufacturers.
