BS EN 1344 specifies the requirements of pavers and accessories manufactured from clay for use in the flexible form of construction and in the rigid form of construction.

BS EN 1344 applies to rectangular and other shaped units intended as construction products in pavements mainly for exterior use, including roofs as roof paving units, but which may also be used internally.

BS EN 1344 covers only clay pavers and accessories with or without coatings and with or without

post-firing chemical treatments that do not contain any material with asbestos fibres nor contain formaldehyde.

Why should you use BS EN 1344 - requirements and test methods for clay pavers

Clay pavers are known for their durability, strength, flexible integrity, colour integrity, and low maintenance.

BS EN 1344 specifies the characteristics and classes of performance and corresponding test methods for clay pavers. BS EN 1344 provides for product marking and for the evaluation of conformity of the product to BS EN 1344 requirements.

The conformity of clay pavers and accessories with the requirements of BS EN 1344 and with the declared performances (i.e., classes, values) of the characteristics of these products according to their intended use is demonstrated by initial type testing (ITT) and type testing (TT), factory production control.

The test methods discussed in BS EN 1745 assist in determining the thermal conductivity to make the product more efficient and environmentally friendly.

The responsibility, authority, and the relationship between personnel that manage, perform, or verify work affecting conformity of the clay pavers and accessories are defined BS EN 1344.

BS EN 1344 guidelines help you to supply stain resistant, long-lasting, and low-maintenance clay pavers to your customers.
