BSI in partnership with the Business Continuity Institute (BCI) are delighted to invite you to attend an experts panel and webinar focussed around the launch of ISO 22301, the new global standard for business continuity management.

    This event is aimed at business continuity managers and emergency planners. Delegates will represent a global audience and be drawn from diverse areas including disaster recovery and recovery planning, emergency response, risk management, crisis management, continuity planning, enterprise planning, operational management, information technology and telecommunications, communication and corporate affairs.

    It is free to attend, however numbers are limited. A recording of the expert’s panel and webinar will be made available post event.

    Meet the experts

    Lyndon BirdLyndon Bird, Director, the Business Continuity Institute

    Lyndon Bird is a Director of The Business Continuity Institute. He has an honours degree in Chemistry and a Masters in Management from the University of Manchester. He helped found the BCI in 1994, and was awarded the Institute’s highest grade of FBCI.

    Prior to taking his current executive role with the BCI, he has served as a voluntary member of the elected BCI Board for six years including three years as Chairman.

    Lyndon was also a founding member of Continuity Planning Associates BV in The Netherlands. He has worked exclusively in the Business Continuity world for over 25 years as a consultant, presenter, author and business manager.

    He was voted BCM Consultant of the year in 2002 and given the prestigious Lifetime Award in 2004 by Continuity, Insurance & Risk Magazine.

    Ian CharterIan Charters, Independent Consultant, Continuity Systems Ltd

    Ian Charters is an independent consultant with Continuity Systems Ltd. He has been a member of the BCI since 1997, was awarded a Fellowship in 2004 and served as an elected Board member from 2001 - 6.

    He represents the BCI on BSI's BCM/1 committee and was appointed by them as the UK expert to the working group developing ISO 22313.

    Ian has undertaken many BCM consultancy assignments in a wide range of sectors over the last 17 years and also runs frequent public and in-house training courses on BCM.

    Dr David Hitchen, BCMS Global Scheme Manager, BSI

    Dr Hitchen has over 20 years experience in private sector project management, management systems implementation, auditing and has been actively involved with BS25999-2 assessment and assessment management with BSI since the standard was launched in 2007.

    He has worked with over 50 BSI certified BS25999-2 clients during the last five years and has recently been appointed interim BCMS Global Scheme Manager covering BS 25999-2 and ISO 22301.

    Tim JanesTim Janes, President, Business Continuity Institute Australasian Chapter

    Tim Janes, MBCI, is the President of the BCI Australasian Chapter. He is a member of Standard Australia’s TC223 Mirror committee, and is Australia’s representative in the development of ISO 22301, as well as other continuity and resilience ISO standards.

    Tim is also Director of Fulcrum Risk Services, an Australian business continuity and crisis management consulting services company. Tim has 20 years’ experience providing business continuity, crisis management and risk consulting services to organisations in Europe, Asia and Australia. He has worked with organisations in diverse industries, such as media, local and federal government, transportation, retail, tourism, logistics and financial services.

    Tim is a regular business continuity and crisis management trainer and frequent contributor of original articles on business continuity for local and international publications.

    Richard TaylorRichard Taylor - Standards Market Development Director, BSI Standards Ltd

    Richard Taylor is Standards Market Development Director for BSI’s publishing business, with responsibility for the delivery of BSI’s full national and international standards development and market engagement programme.

    The Standards Market Development function brings together BSI’s full standards development service offering along with the support of its Knowledge Centre and Conference and Events team providing valuable market insight and focused stakeholder engagement across a wide range of standardization topics for a number of key sectors and disciplines including: construction, manufacturing, services, information technology, healthcare, sustainability, risk and performance management.

    Richard has been active in the development and promotion of standards and helping organisations meet their objectives through standards based solutions.

    Previous sales, marketing and product management roles have been held at Royal Mail Group and ViaCode an information security joint venture with US based Entrust Technologies.

    Brian ZawandaBrian Zawada, Co-founder/Director, Avalution Consulting

    Brian Zawada is a co-founder and the Director of Consulting for Avalution Consulting, a global firm specializing in business continuity solution design, development, implementation and long-term program maintenance. Over the past seventeen years, Brian has actively managed internal business continuity programs and consulted with organizations of all sizes and in nearly all industries. Brian is a frequent author and speaker, and he serves on the Editorial Advisory Board of Continuity Insights magazine and on the board of the USA Chapter of the Business Continuity Institute. Brian previously served on the ASIS International Technical Committee that authored the new American National Standard on business continuity and he currently serves on the US Technical Advisory Group charged with authoring the new family of ISO Societal Security standards, including ISO 22301. Brian is certified as a Member of the Business Continuity Institute and is also certified by the Disaster Recovery Institute as a Master Business Continuity Professional.
