Top tips — document history

Do you need to find out more about previous versions of a standard?

If you maintain or work to older specifications, the bibliographic information page for a standard can help you find previous or more current editions.

For example if you go to BS 5400-2:2006 at the top of the page under the standard title, number and status there are two fields “Replaced by” and “Replaces”.

These fields contain information about more recent versions “Replaced by” and historic versions “Replaces” of this standard. In this example you can click through to BS EN 1991-1-7:2006 to see a more recent version or to BS 5400-2:1978 to see an historic version.
