Abstract

This International Standard is a general geometrical product specification (GPS) standard. It contains basic information on and gives requirements for the geometrical tolerancing of workpieces. It represents the initial basis and defines the fundamentals for geometrical tolerancing. This standard covers tolerance frames, tolerance zones, datums, supplementary indications, theoretically exact dimensions (TED), restrictive specifications, projected tolerance zones, maximum material requirements, least material requirements, the free state condition, interrelationship of geometrical tolerances and definitions of geometrical tolerances.
