PAS 19668 discusses standards for security token publication. PAS 19668 covers security tokens issued on any distributed ledger system. For use by UK and international security token issuers, this is the first and only standard on the presentation of security token information and properties.
PAS 19668 is intended to enable the user to search across different blockchain networks for security tokens that have certain properties. For example, using the information standardized through this PAS, a market participant could filter security tokens issued on different blockchains based on jurisdiction alone or investor classification requirements.
NOTE: It does not cover utility tokens or unregulated tokens.
PAS 19668 on publication requirements for security tokens is useful for:
Security tokens allow securities to be digitized in a manner that is expected to increase openness and the interoperability of the financial system. Until now there is no cross-blockchain industry-wide standard for security tokens. This has resulted in information being organized and presented in different formats and locations, making access highly inefficient and increasingly complex for investors and active market participants. PAS 19668 fills that gap by specifying how information and properties relating to security tokens should be structured and presented.
PAS 19668 provides you with requirements for the publication of relevant information and the technical attributes of security tokens.
PAS 19668 introduces you to cross-chain standards that harmonizes the publication and access of security token attributes as disclosed by the asset issuer.
