This standard specifies the requirements to be followed in the design of the breathing air supply and CO2adsorption of manned submersible.

This standard is applicable to the design of the breathing air supply and CO2adsorption of manned submersibleswhere the internal pressure of the manned compartment is normally maintained at or near one atmosphere.

Unless otherwise specified, the design requirements for the breathing air supply and CO2adsorption of the passenger submersible shall also meet this standard.

This standard is not applicable to situations where the occupant endures the pressure higher than one atmosphere (such as diving bell, etc.).
