What is this PAS about?
Management systems are designed to improve the way businesses are run and many now have a similar structure. This PAS highlights the common elements and how to integrate them.
Who is this PAS for?
- Organizations implementing the requirements of two or more management system standards
- Organizations who want to integrate management systems and streamline processes and procedures
Why should you use this PAS?
This PAS simplifies the implementation of multiple systems standards and any associated conformity assessment. It also introduces some of the newer management systems principles outlined in ISO Annex SL.
It supplies guidance on planning, implementing and operating an integrated management framework, as well as monitoring and improving performance.
It outlines ways to integrate the common requirements found in management systems standards. This gives users an improved overview of their business and helps them manage risk. It also reduces conflicts between different management frameworks, increases efficiency and helps organizations meet regulatory requirements. The specification can also be used to meet internal and external audit requirements.
The key benefits of PAS 99 are that it:
- Provides guidance on how working with the common requirements of multiple management system standards/specifications can help provide a simple, integrated tool and a common system to be implemented
- Helps integrate two or more management systems into one cohesive system with a holistic set of documentation, policies, procedures and processes
What’s changed since the last update?
This is the second edition, updating the original 2006 PAS. It includes additional relevant management system standards not found in the first edition. It also aligns with ISO’s high level structure and common text for management systems laid out in Annex SL to the ISO Supplement of the ISO Directives.
