What is BS EN ISO 376:2011?
BS EN ISO 376:2011 looks at the calibration of force-proving instruments used for the static verification of uniaxial testing equipment. These include tension and compression testing machines. This standard also defines the classification systems for these instruments. BS EN ISO 376 applies to all force-proving instruments in which the force is determined by measuring the elastic deformation of a loaded member or a quantity that is proportional to it.
How does it work?
BS EN ISO 376 first looks at all the symbols and their designations, before explaining the principle in detail. The standard then focuses on the characteristics, calibration, classification and use of force-proving instruments.
Who should buy it?
- Persons responsible for the calibration of force-proving instruments
- Persons responsible for the verification of uniaxial testing equipment
- Regulatory bodies
