Abstract
This part of EN 60598 specifies requirements for portable general purpose luminaires, other than handlamps, for use with tungsten filament, tubular fluorescent and other discharge lamps on supply voltages not exceeding 250 V. This European Standard is to be read in conjunction with those sections of EN 60598-1 to which reference is made.
Requirements are given on the classification of luminaires, marking, construction, creepage distances and clearances, provision for earthing, terminals, external and internal wiring, protection against electric shock, endurance tests and thermal tests, resistance to dust and moisture, insulation resistance and electric strength, and resistance to heat, fire and tracking.
