Abstract
This part of BS 5867 specifies flammability requirements for fabrics and fabric assemblies for use in the production of curtains, drapes and window blinds when tested by the methods specified in BS 5438:1976. Where appropriate, a cleansing or wetting procedure specified in BS 5651 may also be required.
The flammability requirements given in this British Standard have been selected after careful consideration of the statistical information concerning hazard to life in those incidents where curtains and drapes have been identified as the material first ignited.
