Why should you use this standard?
It specifies the visual testing of fusion welds in metallic materials. It may also be applied to visual testing of the joint prior to welding. Using this standard ensures that visual testing of fusion welds in metallic materials is uniform and repeatable, irrespective of new processes, revised standard practices, newly developed equipment or changes to the materials used.
What’s changed since the last update?
This standard replaces BS EN ISO 17637:2011 which is withdrawn. It was revised to keep up with changing approaches and materials.
