BS EN 10255:2004

Non-alloy steel tubes suitable for welding and threading. Technical delivery conditions

Status : Current, Project Underway   Published : August 2004

This standard has been updated and the newly-amended edition is ready for purchase. It is an indispensable guide to those who specify, purchase or supply steel, of the standard purchase specifications and delivery conditions for circular non-alloy steel tubes suitable for welding and threading and provides a number of options for the finish of tube ends and coatings.

The Amendment was produced in order to fulfil the requirements of the EC mandate M/131 belonging to Construction Product Directive 89/106/EC. The scope of BS EN 10255:2004 has not changed.

This document covers tubes of specified outside diameter 10,2 mm to 165,1 mm (thread size 1/8 to 6) in two series, medium and heavy, and three types of designated thicknesses. This essential amendment has been prepared under Mandate M/131 “Pipes, tanks and ancillaries not in contact with water intended for human consumption” given to CEN by the European Commission and the European Free Trade Association in order to meet the requirements of the Mandate given under the EU Construction Products Directive (89/106/EEC).

Although the scope of BS EN 10255:2004 has not changed, BS EN 10255:2004 incorporating Amendment 1:2007 -  unusually for an amendment -  will supersede BS EN 10255:2004.
