3rd Annual

Fire Safety in Buildings Conference

November 2010, London (proposed event - exact date and venue TBC)

Overview:

Use standards to optimize fire safety and minimize the risks while cutting costs.

Good fire safety design and management is critical to protect life and property. Last year's devastating fires in Camberwell and Peckham graphically illustrated this point and have led to a formal review of fire safety in domestic buildings, as well as an increased interest in fire safety in general. A number of new/revised standards are due to be published this year which will tie in with this particular review, including BS 9991 and BS 6266 Code of practice for fire protection for electronic equipment installations.

Now in its third year, BSI's Fire Safety Conference will keep you up to date with the very latest fire safety best practice, as well as revisions to existing standards. Through presentations and discussion sessions with expert speakers, you'll learn how to use these standards to overcome the countless challenges involved in reaching the highest fire safety levels cost-effectively.

Key topics to be addressed:

  • Explanation of revisions to BS 6266 Code of practice for fire protection for electronic equipment installations
  • Insight into BS 9991
  • Possible angle of BS 9999 and sustainability
