Printing Industry British Standards

The printing industry serves all sectors of the economy including public authorities, financial services, publishers, distributive services and manufacturing industry. Its customers range from major institutions to the smallest business

The printing, packaging and graphics communications industry is part of the UK's fifth largest manufacturing industry by turnover and second largest by value added. In many of the statistical sources, printing is not classified as a separate industry. Therefore, information on printing is often scattered among sources related to industries of which it forms only a part. Publications, newspapers and leaflets are obvious examples, but less obvious for example is print associated with packaging, fabrics, and decorative work on ceramics. There are strong links to other fields including photography, materials, and colour vision.
