A maker of pressure vessels in the UK has announced it is expanding its operations in order to apply its fabrication and welding skills to new markets.
LTi Metaltech has revealed it has invested £1.5 million in new manufacturing equipment and has significantly increased the floor space at its production facilities in Oxfordshire.
The company produces a range of high-performance vessels and structures and is now planning to expand its workforce to meet rising demand from customers.
Phil Lacey, Operations Director at LTi Metaltech, told an audience at the launch event for the investment programme: "We are also keen to transfer our skills into new applications in the cryogenics field and other areas, such as the nuclear and renewables sectors."
He added there are plans for further investment by the company over the next year following the expansion at a site in Milton Park near Abingdon. It is currently producing cryogenic pressure vessels for MRI scanners for Siemens MR Magnet Technology.
The Simple Pressure Vessels Directive 87/404/EC from the European Union covers some items in this field and came into force in the UK at the end of 1991.
