This CD contains a PDF of the full text of BS EN 980 and the symbol graphics in useable formats (TIF, JPEG and EPS) eliminating the need for redrawing.
This functionality will be particularly useful for manufacturers and suppliers of medical devices, and to manufacturers and suppliers of safety signs and stickers, and technical authors.
By including the standard (for guidance and context) and the symbols, the CD will make using the symbols – in the style and to the standard’s specification – much easier.

With the 2008 edition of BS EN 980 there is a change in the format in which this standard is available. Published in July, the standard is available in CD format. The disc includes a Portable Document Format (PDF) copy of the standard plus symbol graphics as TIF, JPEG and EPS graphic images.
This innovation is particularly important for a standard such as BS EN 980 where the visual reproduction of the contents is of the essence. It will also facilitate portability of the standard and its contents with the assurance that the content, especially the symbol graphics, will not be reduced in quality. Hard copies of the standard are also available.
The figures presented on the BS EN 980 CD-ROM are TIF files and these are the definitive versions of the drawings. All other file types have been redrawn from the definitive versions.
