The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code (BPVC) is the most important boiler and pressure vessel code for the United States and Canada, as well as being used widely around the world.
The 2010 ASME code establishes rules of safety governing the design, fabrication, and inspection of boilers and pressure vessels, and nuclear power plant components during constructions. The objective of the ASME code is to provides a margin for deterioration in service.
