This European Standard specifies the requirements for voice communicator systems utilizing the public switched telephone network which are in addition to those specified in EN 50136-1-1.
This standard covers switched connections providing event driven signaling between an alarm system and a remote centre. The information will be transmitted using a stored voice message to one or more responsible persons and/or to an alarm receiving centre successively. This standard specifies the performance characteristics of voice communicator systems using the public switched telephone network to ensure their suitability for use and compatibility with different types of alarm systems. This standard includes system requirements and verification of performance.
